Who we are.
Chemate is an iPhone and iPad chess puzzle app from Cobalative Studios. This policy explains the current app’s privacy practices and the Chemate marketing and privacy/support websites at chemate.cobalative.com and chemateprivacy.cobalative.com.
For questions about this policy or data handled by us, contact info@cobalative.com. You can also learn about our studio at cobalative.com.
What stays on your device.
Chemate stores the information it needs to make your next session feel familiar:
- Solved puzzles, attempts, hint use, mistakes and practice statistics.
- A saved position and move sequence for an unfinished puzzle.
- Your chosen board, piece set and feedback settings.
- Your daily free-play allowance, earned ad rewards and records used to avoid granting the same reward twice.
These records are stored locally. We do not operate a Chemate progress-sync server, player-account system, public leaderboard or chat service. Device backups may include local app data according to your Apple settings. Chemate does not independently synchronize progress or earned free-play rights between devices.
The app does not request access to your contacts, microphone, camera, photos or precise location to let you solve a puzzle. It does not ask you to provide a name or email address to play.
What happens with advertising.
Free play includes 15 puzzle rights each day. You may choose to watch an optional rewarded ad to receive 10 more. Completing an ad triggers a reward in the app; closing it early or failing to load an ad does not grant the reward.
Chemate uses Google AdMob / Google Mobile Ads to deliver rewarded ads and Google’s User Messaging Platform (UMP) to manage advertising privacy choices. Consent-related requests may occur when the free app opens, even if you have not chosen to watch an ad. Rewarded ads are not requested simply because you open the app or its purchase screen.
Chemate requests non-personalized ads and does not request permission to access Apple’s advertising identifier through an App Tracking Transparency prompt. Non-personalized does not mean no data is processed. Google may still process information for ad delivery, measurement, security and fraud prevention.
Depending on your device settings, permissions and consent choices, Google’s SDKs may process network information such as an IP address and approximate location derived from it; app- or device-related identifiers; ad views and interactions; and crash, performance or other diagnostic information. The SDK’s privacy declarations also cover product-interaction data. For details, see Google’s iOS SDK data disclosure and how Google uses information from partner apps.
Where a privacy message is required, the app presents the relevant form before an ad request can proceed. An Ad privacy choices entry appears in Chemate’s settings when Google requires it, so you can revisit the available choices. Advertising availability and processing can depend on your region and those choices.
Verified Chemate+ access removes play limits and rewarded ads. It does not automatically delete information already processed by an advertising provider.
Apple handles your purchase.
Chemate+ is an optional one-time in-app purchase, not a subscription. Purchases and restores use Apple’s App Store and StoreKit. Chemate verifies transaction and entitlement information, such as the product identifier, transaction status and any revocation, to decide whether to enable unlimited play.
We do not collect your payment-card details or Apple Account password in Chemate. Apple handles billing and its own purchase records under Apple’s Privacy Policy. Removing the app does not cancel a completed purchase or erase Apple’s transaction records.
Support and feedback.
If you email us, we receive your email address, message and any information or attachments you choose to send. We use that correspondence to answer you, investigate an issue, and improve the app. Email delivery involves the email services used by you and by us.
Please share only what is needed for the issue. Do not send passwords, payment-card numbers, sensitive personal information or unredacted documents. We don’t subscribe you to a marketing list just because you ask for help.
A simple website, too.
These pages do not contain an advertising SDK, analytics script, newsletter form or third-party font request. They do not set application cookies or use browser storage for tracking. The board-style preview on the marketing page runs in your browser and does not send your selections to us.
Delivering a hosted page can involve standard connection information and request logs, such as an IP address, browser details and access time, handled by website-hosting services for delivery, security or troubleshooting. Those hosting records are separate from the local progress stored by Chemate.
Following an external link, including a link to Apple, Google or our studio site, takes you to a service with its own privacy practices.
Keeping and removing information.
Local progress, settings and earned rights remain in the app’s storage while available on your device. Deleting the app—not merely offloading it—normally removes its local app data, but backups and operating-system restore settings can preserve or restore information. Please consult your Apple device and backup settings if you want to remove those copies.
Deleting local app data can remove your progress and unused ad rewards. Chemate does not offer a cloud backup for those records. Chemate+ can be restored with the eligible Apple Account independently of local puzzle progress.
We retain support correspondence as needed to address the request and meet applicable obligations. You can ask us to delete correspondence we hold. Provider-managed information, including Apple purchase records and Google advertising information, is subject to the provider’s own retention rules and privacy controls.
Your choices and privacy rights.
- You can play using the daily free allowance without choosing to watch an ad.
- You can use Chemate+ to remove rewarded advertising and play limits.
- Where available or required, open Settings → Ad privacy choices to revisit advertising consent.
- You can manage device permissions, backups and relevant Apple privacy settings on your device.
- You decide what to include in a support email.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability of personal information, object to certain processing, or withdraw consent. You may also have the right to complain to your local data-protection authority.
Send questions or requests to info@cobalative.com. We may need proportionate information to verify a request and will explain what we can act on and where a provider-managed request is needed. You can find Google’s controls through its privacy policy and Apple’s controls at Apple’s Data and Privacy portal.
Parents and younger players.
Chemate does not ask for a child’s name, age, school or contact details to play, and it has no public player profiles or chat. Parents and guardians should consider the App Store age rating, supervise optional ad viewing and purchases where appropriate, and use the parental controls available on their Apple devices.
If you believe a child has sent personal information to us through support correspondence, contact info@cobalative.com so we can investigate and handle it appropriately.
If something changes.
We may update this policy when the app, its providers or applicable requirements change. The date at the top identifies the latest version. Material changes will be communicated as appropriate. This policy is written in English.
